It is extremely rare for a firm this size to have every partner listed in so many directories. Many more CGW team members have been ranked this year, with Annie Smeaton, Greg Thorne, Neil Hawthorne, Marcus Ford, Laura Gahan, Leanne O’Neill and Rosalie Cattermole all new entrants for this latest ‘2020’ edition – taking us from 14 listings up to 21.

In addition, we have gained some new rankings that align nicely with our clients’ industries including agriculture/rural affairs, banking/finance, natural resources and retirement villages/senior living.

Charles Sweeney has achieved a third ranking in the area of corporate law.

Kim Teague has achieved a third ranking in the area of retirement villages and senior living law.

Clinton Jackson has achieved a second ranking, this time for superannuation law.

Sam Adams, partner has been listed in the area of sports law.

Many of our senior team members who are not ranked in Best Lawyers are ranked in numerous other directories for 2018/2019 including Chambers, Legal 500 and Doyle’s Guide – this means we have groups or individual team members ranked for all of our major practice areas and most of our focus industries.

The methodology Best Lawyers uses is designed to capture, as accurately as possible, the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues within the same geographical area and legal practice area.

Best Lawyers employs a sophisticated, conscientious, rational, and transparent survey process designed to elicit meaningful and substantive evaluations of the quality of legal services.
