Proposed Queensland data breach laws bring new obligations for government agencies

The Queensland Parliament has introduced the Information Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Bill, which proposes new privacy and data breach laws.

Minister extends the currency and completion periods for development approvals in Queensland for the third time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic

On 29 April 2022, the Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning issued a Notice extending the currency and completion periods of current development approvals under the Planning Act 2016 by a further 12 months.

Recently, following a review of submissions, the Brisbane City Council endorsed the proposed amendment to the City Plan 2014 regarding rooftop gardens and landscaped greenspaces and has referred the amendment to the Queensland Government for consideration to adopt.
