Merger reform in practice: lessons from the front line of ACCC notifications
Australia’s mandatory merger notification regime has been in effect since 1 January 2026, materially impacting acquisitions, including transactions that may not previously have been considered ‘mergers’ in the traditional sense.
With almost a year of the new regime now behind us, our corporate advisory team has advised a number of clients on the ACCC notification process.
In this webinar, partner Phil Vickery and associate Lochlann Woodall will:
- provide an overview of the notification thresholds and how to determine whether your transaction is caught
- examine the applicable ACCC assessment timelines and how these may affect transaction timetables in practice
- discuss when the notification waiver process or early engagement may be prudent
- explore the application of the regime to property and land transactions, including agreements for lease and sale-and-leaseback arrangements
- share practical tips for navigating the mandatory notification process.
This webinar is relevant to senior executives, commercial managers, in-house counsel, business development and M&A teams, and others involved in commercial and property transactions.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a practical and insightful session.
