As part of its third annual work program, the Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal has commenced an inquiry into the wharf and port sector of the road transport industry. The inquiry will consider wharf and port container work across the five main Australian ports: Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Melbourne and Sydney.
The inquiry will provide interested parties with the opportunity to make submissions and comments on issues, incentives, pressures or practices that can be improved by a road safety remuneration order covering road transport drivers.
The inquiry will be conducted by Tribunal member Senior Deputy President Drake and industry members Mr Hutchins and Mr Squires. Proceedings for oral submissions and comments to the inquiry will be held at locations, times and dates to be published on the Tribunal’s website.
