The announcement was made at ADVOC Asia’s Annual General Meeting held on 11 October in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. ADVOC is an international network of independent law firms whose members bring together their knowledge and expertise to support clients in jurisdictions across the globe. The network currently consists of 93 firms and 5,500 lawyers spread throughout 72 different countries.
Under the current structure of ADVOC, the appointment also means Ward will take on the role of global head of the network.
Chris Ward commented on his appointment: “I am honoured to be elected President of ADVOC Asia and to take on the role of leading the organisation globally. ADVOC is a great organisation which brings benefits for clients and team members of each of the 93 firms in the network. I have come to know a wide range of my ADVOC colleagues over the years and trust in the capability they can bring to clients, wherever that international expertise is required. I look forward to continuing to improve on the connectivity and benefits shared between the ADVOC members.”
Chris Ward will remain ADVOC Asia President for two years until the next Annual General Meeting in June 2020.
