Trucking website Australian Transport News has published an article urging industry members to obtain information regarding the new unfair contract provisions in the Australian Consumer Law that commenced operation last week.

CGW’s transport team has been instrumental in assisting the industry to prepare for the changes, preparing a contract checklist that is available through member associations of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).

In a recent media release, ATA Chair Noelene Watson issued the following warning:

‘I urge every trucking business to contact their ATA member association to get this vital information, and if you are not a member, I urge you to join one of our associations now.’

The contract checklist provides trucking businesses and legal advisers with information about the issues they should consider before they sign transport contracts.
