Cooper Grace Ward recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality

Cooper Grace Ward Lawyers is very proud to have received a citation as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for 2018/2019.

The WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality recognition is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.

The criteria for recognition covers gender remuneration gaps, leadership, learning and development, flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities, employee consultation, preventing sex-based harassment and discrimination, and targets for improving gender equality outcomes.

Chris Ward, managing partner at Cooper Grace Ward says the recognition shows the firm’s commitment to embracing workplace gender equality. “Achieving gender equality in the workplace is something we have always strived for at Cooper Grace Ward.”

“The recognition received from the WGEA is evidence that we are making a real difference with gender equality which sets us apart from many other law firms.”

In addition to the WGEA recognition, Cooper Grace Ward has also received accreditation for the ninth consecutive year as a breastfeeding friendly workplace. The firm also has a well-established diversity committee driving a range of initiatives around gender, indigenous, age, impairment, cultural and more recently a group for LGBTIQ+ team members.

The firm also supports team members who seek flexible working arrangements and 40% of team members are currently on a formal flexible working arrangement of some kind.
