Family trusts and companies are very common, so to merely deal with Wills in the estate planning process is to overlook a potentially significant part of family wealth.
There are many traps when estate planning for families with these types of entities, and many opportunities as well.
Post-death estate challenges are now evolving to include these entities, so it is vital to get their succession implemented correctly.
In this session we will cover the fundamentals with family trusts and companies as part of estate planning, and particularly:
- what the cases say – how to get it wrong and end up in court
- how to pass on the appointor role, and when to remove it entirely
- alternative ways of appointing directors
- the importance of knowing your UPEs!
We look forward to seeing you.
