Cooper Grace Ward is pleased to announce that its managing partner, Chris Ward, will lead the firm for another four year term following the conclusion of his current term at the end of 2013.

Mr Ward has held the reins since 2005, and has indicated that his third term will be his final term as managing partner. The CGW partnership is well advanced with its succession planning.

The last 12 months’ highlights for CGW have been:

one of only 19 Australian and New Zealand companies, and the only law firm, to have been accredited as an Aon Hewitt Best Employer;

winners of the Queensland Law Society Equity & Diversity Award for 2013; and

nine lawyers listed in Best Lawyers Australia as voted by their peers – the most of any Queensland based law firm.

Mr Ward said he sees his role over the next four years as focused primarily on business development as well as succession planning.

“We are working through a detailed succession and transition plan that enables CGW to continue to build upon the solid foundations we have created over the last 34 years,” he said.

“I am dedicated to ensuring the firm’s ability to deliver great service and commercially focused expert legal advice to an increasing complex legal marketplace.”
