Cooper Grace Ward held a joint seminar on 15 September 2011 with Perpetual on structured giving – getting it right for high net worth clients.
The speakers were Carly Ashwood, Senior associate in Cooper Grace Ward’s corporate and commercial team and Andrew Thomas, General Manager of philanthropy at Perpetual.
The seminar provided attendees with information and an insight into private ancillary funds and other charitable structures and, how such structures are an invaluable tax and estate planning tool for all clients, particularly high net worth individuals with philanthropic intentions. The presentation covered the structure, operation and benefits of private ancillary funds and other philanthropic structures.
The attendees at the seminar included accountants and financial planners, individuals with philanthropic desires, representatives of charitable organisations and organisations that provide support and assistance to charitable organisations.
Carly Ashwood of Cooper Grace Ward said ‘the seminar was very well received by clients and contacts of both Cooper Grace Ward and Perpetual. This was reflected in the number and scope of attendees on the day’.
Cooper Grace Ward would like to thank Andrew Thomas for co-presenting with Carly at the seminar and Steven Parry, Senior Financial Consultant in Perpetual’s private wealth advisory team, for his involvement in and contribution to the event.
In her role at Cooper Grace Ward, Carly specialises in providing assistance to not-for-profit organisations and philanthropists in all areas of law including establishing structures for tax effective operation and giving.
