Marcus is a partner in Cooper Grace Ward's property, planning and environment team.
Marcus has been actively involved in the urban development industry for more than 20 years, with particular expertise in:
- Legal structures, including joint ventures
- Large broad acre acquisitions
- Large residential master planned communities
- Community title scheme developments, especially in the strategic formulation of the scheme
- Complex tenders for acquisition of raw sites
- Strategic advice for property developers.
His focus is to provide legal advice of the highest calibre ensuring commercial and practical results. Marcus achieves these results through a commitment to strategic planning of his clients’ ventures, taking into account not only the myriad of legal issues but also the financial imperatives of his clients and the political issues they often face.
Being client-focused is paramount to the way Marcus practises. He remains accessible and approachable for all clients and ensures that the work implemented by his teams is always under his direction, supervision and involvement.
Marcus has been Secretary of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Queensland State Council for six years. He makes a continuing contribution to the property industry through his involvement in the UDIA which includes lobbying to government on behalf of the industry and his clients.
