Land tax valuation freeze for some Queensland land owners
13 February 2009 Topics: Property and planning lawQueensland’s Premier Anna Bligh announced yesterday, 12 February 2009 that land values in certain local government areas would not face revaluation this year. In the affected areas, current valuations date back to 2005.
The local government areas affected are:
Balonne
Dalby
Redlands
Banana
Etheridge
South Burnett
Bundaberg
Lockyer Valley
Southern Downs
Cassowary Coast
Moreton Bay
Townsville
Charters Towers
Mount Isa
Whitsunday
Croydon
Rockhampton

Various industry bodies have called for a state-wide moratorium on revaluations so that Queensland’s most populous areas were included.
