Cooper Grace Ward (CGW) has been shortlisted for several categories in one of the legal industry’s most prestigious award ceremonies, the Australian Law Awards.
CGW’s Commercial Team has been nominated for Commercial Team of the Year, an award which recognises excellence in commercial legal services, benefits delivered to clients and the firm’s efforts to set itself apart as a leader in the legal field.
CGW has also been shortlisted as a finalist for the Employee Program of the Year award. This award recognises the firm’s commitment to its workforce via several team initiatives including regular mental health and wellbeing workshops and on-site trained mental health first aid officers. These initiatives are designed to improve support and assist with education and awareness.
In addition, special counsel in Transport & Logistics Gillian Bristow has been shortlisted as a finalist to win Special Counsel of the Year at the 2018 Australian Law Awards.
Gillian has practised in the transport sector for almost 25 years and acts for a wide variety of transport and logistics clients and transport industry associations across all jurisdictions, including road transport operators, warehouse operators, tow operators, freight forwarders and companies involved in plant hire.
Managing Partner Chris Ward praised the firm’s People & Culture team, Health & Wellbeing committee, Commercial team and Gillian for their achievements and contribution to the firm.

The 18th annual Australian Law Awards, in partnership with UNSW Law, recognises the outstanding contribution of Australia’s top lawyers and legal firms across 33 categories. Winners in the individual categories will automatically be shortlisted for the coveted Lawyers Weekly Excellence Award.
The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner on Friday, 31 August 2018 at The Star, Sydney.
