Coinciding with the 2019 APPEA Conference, the Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy has announced the release of 11 areas, totalling 3,742 square kilometres, now open to competitive non-cash tenders for petroleum and gas exploration in the Surat, Bowen and Drummond basins. Tenders close at 2.30pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on Thursday 8 August 2019.

Junior, mid-tier and new entrant explorers are invited to apply, via a competitive non-cash tender, for the right to explore these newly released areas.

Two areas (PRL2019-1-1 and PRL2019-1-2), totalling 1,018 square kilometres, will be subject to an Australian market supply condition requiring the gas produced from these areas to be supplied exclusively to the domestic market.
