Michael is a Senior Associate in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team.
He strives to provide simple practical solutions to complex legal problems.
Michael has significant experience acting for commercial clients from a broad range of industries in general contractual disputes.
He also frequently conducts building and construction litigation, including claims for unpaid variations, disputes about defects and delays, and making and responding to claims under the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004 (Qld). He is familiar with the issues that commonly arise on construction projects, which enables him to provide advice which is both practical and relevant.
Michael has acted in a variety of disputes in the property sector, including proceedings to remove tenants, claims for trade disruption, disputed option exercise, and failure to complete contracts for the sale of land.
He also specialises in conducting high-volume debt recovery work for large corporate clients. He has a detailed practical knowledge of court procedures, and provides strategic advice focussed on efficient and effective recovery.
Michael is also a part-time Sessional Academic at the Queensland University of Technology Faculty of Law, where he teaches in the areas of Civil Procedure, Professional Responsibility, Equity and Trusts.
