Maria is an associate in Cooper Grace Ward’s commercial group.
Maria’s experience includes advising private companies on shareholder agreements, sale of business agreements and share sale agreements.
She has also advised on State government contracts in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania.
Working with partner Peter Dwyer, Maria has developed specialist expertise in advising the bus industry. Her experience in this area includes:
- Advising on Rural and Regional Bus System Contracts A and B for BusNSW
- Advising on the Metropolitan and Outer-Metropolitan Bus System Contracts, including post-execution issues for BusNSW and NSW private bus operators
- Advising on the Queensland Kilometre Based School Contract for QBIC
- Advising on a Rural School Services Contract, Urban Fringe Student Only Contract, Urban Fringe General Access Contract, Urban Contracts and Long Distance Contracts for TasBus
- Advising on the DECS School Services Contract for BCASA
- Advising, conducting due diligence and settling sale and purchase of commercial and school bus services in Queensland for Queensland private bus operators
- Advising, conducting due diligence and settling sale and purchase of metropolitan and rural bus businesses on behalf of NSW private bus operators
- Advising on Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania passenger transport legislation, regulation and standards.
Maria also has property experience, including commercial land transactions and leasing in both Queensland and New South Wales.
