During the May Breakfast Brief Mr Bruce Dodd, Regional Commissioner for ASIC for Western Australia presented to a group of more than 30 guests including In-House Counsel, Company Secretaries and Senior Executives from a range of industries. He spoke about the ASIC restructure, the Emerging mining and resources team, directors' and officers' duties and ASIC's Deterrence Regime.
As part of his presentation, Mr Dodd spoke about the Hardie decision, which has emphasised that courts are examining how directors carry out their duties, with breaches resulting in serious consequences.
